Jeff Foxworthy is back with a new stand-up special on Netflix. In fact, it’s actually his first solo stand-up special in 24 years. In the new special, titled The Good Old Days, he talks about “parenting (your children and your parents), texting, the joy of getting a butt dial, conversations with his wife and recalls a much simpler time (or was it?).”

Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. He is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee, and best-selling author of 26 books. Widely known for his redneck jokes, his act goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature, a style that has been compared to Mark Twain’s.

Foxworthy was born Jeffrey Marshall Foxworthy in Atlanta, Georgia on September 6, 1958. In 1993, he released You Might Be a Redneck If…, which topped the comedy albums chart and started the “You Might Be a Redneck” fad. The album went gold in 1994, platinum by 1995, and 3x platinum by 1996, which is more than three million copies

He followed in his father’s footsteps working for IBM in Georgia, but on a dare from friends, he did a few minutes of comedy at an Atlanta comedy club. A few months later, Foxworthy quit his job and started on the stand-up comedy road. His comedy originally centered on family situations, but he soon hit upon his successful “You might be a redneck if…” tagline, which he says signifies “a glorious absence of sophistication.” Following two successful albums, Foxworthy joined the growing trend of stand-up comics with their own TV sitcoms.

Foxworthy has also made several ventures into television, starting in the mid-1990s with his own sitcom called The Jeff Foxworthy Show. He has also appeared alongside Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy in several Blue Collar television specials, most notably Blue Collar TV for The WB. Since 2007, he has been the host of the quiz show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? on Fox (2007–09 and 2015) and in syndication (2009–11). Foxworthy hosted a nationally syndicated radio show called The Foxworthy Countdown from April 1999 to December 2009. For three seasons, he hosted GSN’s The American Bible Challenge.
