Fans of FX’s Atlanta have been patiently waiting for more information on the top-rated show’s third season. In a new message on social media, show creator Donald Glover said that fans can expect Atlanta Season 3 sometime in 2022.
Atlanta Season 3 comes out probably the beginning of next year,” said Glover via a voice note on Twitter (which has since been deleted). The actor, who raps under the name Childish Gambino, went on to state that he isn’t sure when his next musical album will release.
Since its release, Atlanta has become one of the most popular shows on television, mainly due to its stellar cast. Atlanta’s 11-episode second season concluded in 2018, and FX planned on the third season launching in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed that. Glover also recently confirmed that production filming on the third season had already begun by posting photographs from the set.
Atlanta is created and executive produced by Glover and stars Brian Tyree Henry, LaKeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz. The series has already taken home two Golden Globe awards in its history and has been renewed for a fourth season, which doesn’t have an estimated date just yet.
