HBO Max has announced that they have officially renewed their newest romantic comedy series Starstruck for a second season. The series is created by New Zealand comedian Rosa Matafeo, who is also leading the series as a 20-something woman who unexpectedly gets romantically involved with a famous actor. The first season of Starstruck is now available for streaming on HBO Max, but you can first check out its trailer in the player below.

“I’m thrilled that Starstruck will be returning for a second series in the US on HBO Max. I hope American audiences like my accent as much as I like speaking in it” Matafeo said in a statement.

“Rose is an exciting talent whose international stardom is on the rise,” Senior Vice President of International Originals at HBO Max, Jeniffer Kim said. “Working with Rose and the team at Avalon has been amazing and so we had to keep it going. We can’t wait for audiences to see this hilarious and quirky love story.”

Starstruck centers around Jessie, a millennial living in East London juggling two dead-end jobs and navigating the awkward morning-after-the-night-before when she discovers the complications of accidentally sleeping with famous movie star Tom. What she thought would become an amusing anecdote soon turns into something more, as the couple realizes they can’t keep away from each other.

The romantic comedy series stars Rosa Matafeo (Baby Done) as Jessie, Nikesh Patel (Artemis Fowl) as Tom Kapoor, Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) as Tom’s agent, Russell Tovey, Emma Sidi as Kate, Sindhu Vee as Sindhu, Joe Barnes as Joe, and Nic Sampson as Steve.
