Since the mid-1990s, the Just For Laughs comedy festival has served as a launching pad for up-and-coming talents turned legendary figures as part of their “New Faces” comedy showcase. Some of the young comedians to grace the Montreal stage to find stardom include Jimmy Fallon, Gabriel Iglesias, Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Ali Wong, and Pete Davidson just to name a few. Due in large part to a global pandemic in 2020, JFL’s highlight showcase will be streamed on Youtube from Los Angeles, Montreal, and New York City. One of the rising stars performing at this year’s festival is none other than Canadian funnyman Aaron Read.
