FX has officially renewed Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s coming-of-age comedy series Reservation Dogs for a second season, which is expected to debut in 2022. The early renewal is due to the growing recognition and positive responses from critics and fans, who are praising the show for its incredible cast of young newcomers and its funny and charming story.

The series currently sits at a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has earned Universal Acclaim status on Metacritic. It is scheduled to return this coming Monday, September 6 on FX on Hulu with sixth episode titled, “Hunting,” which is written and directed by Harjo.

Reservation Dogs centers around the lives of four Native American teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crime… and fighting it. The series stars up-and-coming young actors D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Creeped Out) as Bear, Devery Jacobs (American Gods) as Elora Danan, Paulina Alexis (Beans) as Willie Jack, and Lane Factor as Cheese.

The series will also feature guest stars including Tamara Podemski, Zahn McClarnon, Macon Blair, Kirk Fox, Matty Cardarople, Dallas Goldtooth, Lil Mike, and Funny Bone.

Reservation Dogs is created and executive produced by Taika Watiti and Sterlin Harjo. It is also being produced by Garrett Basch through his Scott Rudin Productions banner. This marks Waititi’s latest project with FX following the popular mockumentary series What We Do in the Shadows.
