How did you discover your passion for comedy:
When I was ten, my mother had bought a book called the Adults-Only Joke Book as a gift for one of her friends. I temporarily stole it and brought it to school and I and my friends started telling each other these extremely filthy jokes. While none of us really understood most of them, I vividly remember how good it felt to tell a joke and elicit laughter from my peers.
What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
Absolutely nothing. Complete blackout.
How would you describe your comedic style:
A little dry.
Describe your process for comedic writing:
If something I encounter in life strikes me as potentially funny, I write it down. I try to figure out my premise, joke target, and attitude for the joke and work out punchlines.
Describe the comedy scene in your area:
Not great for an amateur.
How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
If you can make rooms full of people laugh consistently, you are successful.
Who are some of your comedic peers that you enjoy watching perform or inspire you personally and professionally:
Anybody from the bay area comedy scene.
What’s been your most memorable moment in comedy:
My first big laugh. In an auditorium at UC Santa Cruz.
What have you learned most from your failures in comedy:
That the failures will never stop and it’s how you deal with and learn from them the marks your progress.
How do people react towards you when they realize that you can make people laugh:
They laugh.
Describe what it’s been like building a career in stand-up comedy:
It’s a rollercoaster of emotions.
If you could change one thing in the world of comedy, what would it be:
Abolish bringer shows.

That Was Weird.
Funniest encounter you’ve ever had with a celebrity:
One time I served Michael Rappaport a Chick-fil-a sandwich.
Weirdest place you’ve ever performed any form of comedy:
A hair salon.
Where would you like your laughs to take you:
First and foremost, to keep enjoying it.
What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
Just do it.
What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
Well, it’s gonna be interesting.
If you could write one episode for one classic TV sitcom which show would it be and give a brief detailed sentence on the episode:
A Seinfeld episode where Jerry signs up for J-Date.
If you could choose 1 comedy club and 3 comedians to perform with on your perfect comedy show, how would it go:
The World Famous Comedy Store. I and the ghosts of Norm Macdonald, Joan Rivers, and Mitch Hedberg deliver our acts simultaneously.
What’s next for you:
I go where the wind takes me.
Why should a person always laugh at life:
Because if you can’t, life wins.
