A writer, performer, and social media content creator, this is one comedian who has no problem using his Bay Area confidence to impress some of the brightest stars that the Hollywood comedy business has to offer. G King makes a quick stop at the Funny Media Group’s “Comedy Cube” in Los Angeles, California to deliver an amazing 13 min set.
Born in Vallejo, California, King grew up watching HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and BET’s ComicView. Becoming a comedian after graduating from college and working at UPS, he’s performed at top comedy clubs around the Bay Area and toured the entire country. G King has penned for acts including Charlie Murphy, DeRay Davis, Tony Roberts, and Damon Wayans Jr.
The 2000 Vallejo High School graduate went to DeVry University in the day and worked for United Parcel Service at night. That interfered with stand-up shows, so he quit and went to work for AT&T and got laid off. That was the sign needed to follow his dream and make comedy his career.
King beat out almost 40 other comics for a coveted guest spot on Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City” show, entering its second season. He had seven minutes to show off his best in hopes of being on the show that focuses on the comedy scene in a designated area.
He now lives in Van Nuys, California, and is a regular at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The HaHa Comedy Club, but still performs regularly in Northern California.
