Over the Thanksgiving weekend, stand-up comedian Sophie Buddle made her late-night television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Buddle entertains Stage 56 with a set about the pros and cons of inquiring about your partner’s sexual fantasies, the silver lining for women they’re cheated on, and why millennials are set up to be the best parents.

A Canadian comedian, Sophie Buddle is most noted for her 2019 comedy album A Lil Bit of Buddle, which won the Juno Award for Comedy Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2020.

A stand-up comedian, a TV writer, and podcaster, you’ve seen her on CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes as a correspondent and as a staff writer, she’s also been featured on JFL All Access, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Halifax Comedy Festival. Her A Lil Bit of Buddle album was released herself so you can find it on iTunes in the genre “easy listening” which was a mistake, but it is easy to listen to so it’s ok.

Following in the footsteps of other notable comedians such as Harland Williams, Jon Dore, Nathan Fielder, Debra DiGiovanni, and Katie Crown, Sophie has a fantastic way of luring in people with her subversively playful delivery and a splash of a stereotypically blonde on-stage persona, then serving up very sharp, delightfully mischievous punchlines.

Her podcast Obsessed with Sophie Buddle was also an instant hit and recorded an episode live at JFL42. She is also a two-time runner up for Canada’s biggest stand-up contest SiriusXM Top Comic and headlines across the country.
