What better way to let the world know that you’re officially off of the market than surprising your audience during a comedy set.
According to Page Six, comedian and Master of None star Aziz Ansari announced his engagement with fiancée is Danish forensic data scientist Serena Skov Campbell during his most recent comedy set at The Comedy Cellar in New York, New York. The audience in attendance would cheer with excitement once they heard the news from Ansari.
Aziz would reveal that he has been living in the U.K. and made jokes about hoping his kids would be more Indian than Dutch. It’s unknown when the 38-year-old began dating Campbell, they were first spotted together in 2018 when Campbell was a Ph.D. student, at the U.S. Open.
This would not be the first time Ansari would acknowledge Campbell while performing on stage. In 2019, Aziz revealed during a set at Radio City Music Hall that he planned to take Campbell to India to meet his grandmother.
Ansari has won several acting and writing awards, including two Emmys and a Golden Globe, which was the first award received by an Indian American and Asian American actor for acting on television. He began performing comedy in New York City, while a student at NYU Stern in 2000. He later co-created and starred in the MTV sketch comedy show Human Giant, after which he had acting roles in a number of feature films. Aziz was included in the Time 100 list of most influential people in 2016. In July 2019, Ansari released his fifth comedy special Aziz Ansari: Right Now, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. In 2021, Netflix released, Master of None Presents: Moments in Love, which Ansari wrote and directed.
