Celebrating his new deal with Netflix, iconic comedian Dave Chappelle makes a surprise appearance at Crack’em Up Thursdays (Feb. 25) inside The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, California. Enjoying the surprise performance, local comedian Tahir Moore would become faced with a decision regarding his motor vehicle as he would seek advice from his fans via Twitter. The decision would become more urgent as Moore’s cell phone began to vibrate loudly, becoming highly noticeable to fellow audiences members and Chappelle himself. The Comedy Store has a strict policy of no cell phones to be activated during Chappelle’s performance at the risk of people secretly recording his performance for social media purposes.

Knowing the importance of the rules, Moore would attempt to explain that his cell phone was alerting him that he was at risk of receiving a parking ticket. Tahir would further explain his reasoning for not leaving to move his car due in large part to wanting to witness the full Chappelle performance. Understanding his parking dilemma, not only did Chappelle tell Moore to sit down and enjoy the rest of the show, but he would offer to pay for Tahir’s parking ticket. After the event, Moore would share the legendary story on his social media page, showcasing the parking ticket and hundred-dollar bill from Chappelle.

Moore would end the video excited to one day tell his future children this Chappelle story, only to inform us all that he will no longer be having children.

Tahir Moore is a stand-up comic, actor, writer, and host. Originally from East St. Louis, IL, he graduated from Harris-Stowe State University in 2008. He began doing full stand-up time after moving to Los Angeles in 2009. Tahir has toured with comedians D. L. Hughley, Lavell Crawford, Affion Crockett, etc. He’s currently traveling on tour with fellow comedians Tony Baker and KevOnStage, he hosts top-rated viral shows on Youtube entitled Wording Is Hard and Zoomin’ w/ the Homies.

Last week, Netflix announced four upcoming comedy specials executive produced and hosted by Dave Chappelle. The series of specials is dubbed Chappelle’s Home Team, and each will feature a different comic introduced by Chappelle. The first to be featured is Earthquake (real name Nathaniel Martin Stroman), and his special, called Earthquake: Legendary, premieres on Feb. 28. Another special will spotlight Donnell Rawlings. One similarity shared by all the featured comics is they’ve been in the stand-up game for at least 30 years.
