Making his television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden, stand-up comedian Akeem Woods entertains the Stage 56 audience with jokes about how his Mom knew he was gay without ever having to say it and how the Citizen app serves different purposes in Malibu and South Central LA.

Akeem Woods is the funny little brother you always (never) wanted — his comedy style will have you on the edge of your seat reeling from laughter! No topic is safe from the discussion, whether it be the KKK or the hardships of growing up poor.

He was recently passed as a regular at the Comedy Cellar in NYC, was a semi-finalist on Stand Up NBC and has been on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network. He’s opened for and toured with greats such as Godfrey, Preacher Lawson and Tiffany Haddish.

Currently, you can find Akeem working on a new show for BET and you can catch him at clubs and colleges all over the country.

Broadway, television and film star James Corden takes over the reins of the late-late-night franchise at CBS from fellow U.K. import Craig Ferguson. The British performer — whose previous hosting gigs include five years of The Brit Awards — puts his charm, warmth and creative instincts to use as he interviews celebrities and newsmakers, and hosts musical performances in his post-“Late Show” time slot.
