Asian Comedy Fest is the largest national AAPI comedy festival, returning for a third year and featuring six comedy shows across two nights. The festival will showcase stand-up comedy at Stand Up NY on May 6th and comedy in various forms, such as sketch comedy, musical comedy and a live podcast performance at Caveat on May 7th. The Caveat show will also be live-streamed – ticket information is available here.

Asian Comedy Fest will also donate a portion of its profits to Heart of Dinner, an organization that aims to combat food insecurity and isolation within NYC’s elderly AAPI community by delivering weekly care packages of hot lunches, fresh produce, and handwritten letters in their native language to bring warmth and comfort.

Additionally, following a successful collaboration during last year’s fest, ACF and Rizzle are partnering again to incorporate a digital component to the live festival. The two are seeking video submissions from AAPI creators worldwide. To enter, AAPI creators should film a one-minute proof-of-concept video for a talk show.

The top three winners will be screened live at the 8pm show on May 7 at Caveat and will be greenlit by Rizzle for a 10-episode series. Winners will also receive a cash prize of up to $1,000. Rizzle contest submissions open today, April 7th and the deadline to submit is Monday, April 25, 2022. Creators can submit by downloading Rizzle and using #ACF2022.ACF is the largest national comedy festival dedicated to elevating diverse voices within the AAPI community and brings much-needed attention to a scene bursting at the seams with new and exciting talent.

The inaugural ACF in 2020 featured a wide array of comedic acts including superstar and AAPI icon Ronny Chieng. In 2021, after pivoting to a hybrid format due to the pandemic, ACF featured appearances from talent such as Bowen Yang, Jes Tom and Michael Cruz Kayne, and also raised over $8,000 for the non-profit Apex for Youth. Additionally, previous ACFs received national press attention from The Hollywood Reporter, the New York Times and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Helmed by the original creative team, Executive Producer Edward Yoo Pokropski (NBC Universal) and Producer/Marketing Director Kate Moran (Yahoo!), ACF 2022 promises to continue raising the bar.
