On Saturday night, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias became the first comedian ever to perform (and sell out) at Dodger Stadium.

The history-making show was part of the 12-day Netflix Is A Joke Festival.

Security was tight, especially in light of what happened to controversial comedian Dave Chappelle a few nights earlier at the Hollywood Bowl, when he was attacked on stage while performing as part of the same festival.

Iglesias said he was not worried about any hecklers or anyone potentially getting too close because he has a solid security team.

The 45-year-old funnyman said, “I’ve been doing this for 25 years. I gave up a lot of hair, hope and happiness to make sure that a show like this could happen.”

Iglesias filled more than 45,000 seats this weekend, making it the third biggest comedy show ever — and the biggest ever in Los Angeles — according to reports.

Netflix is a Joke Fest is an 11-day stand-up comedy festival backed by streaming giant Netflix, and will feature 130 comics with some of the biggest names in the industry in its inaugural lineup including Dave Chappelle, Seth Rogen, Chelsea Handler, Aziz Ansari, Bill Burr and Conan O’Brien. The L.A.-based event will take place across 25 venues.

The comedy festival was originally scheduled for last spring but was postponed due to the pandemic.

Iglesias has more than two decades of comedy under his belt, from series such as “All That” in 2000 to compete on “Last Comic Standing” in 2006. In 2011 he had a stand-up comedy showcase on Comedy Central and currently, he also hosts Nickelodeon’s competition program “Unleashed.” In addition to live-action performances, he has lent his voice to projects including “Family Guy,” “Planes” and the upcoming “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” in which he voices Speedy Gonzalez, and in “Blazing Samurai,” an animated action-adventure comedy inspired by “Blazing Saddles.”
