Iliza Shlesinger returns to Netflix with her sixth comedy special, Hot Forever.

Iliza proves to be the hilarious and poignant voice of her generation, boldly articulating the things we all wish we could say with topics ranging from every girl’s ugly bra to how all adult men need to own a box spring. Hot Forever is forever relevant.

Hot Forever marks Iliza Shlesinger’s sixth Netflix comedy special, tying Dave Chappelle for the most Netflix comedy specials at six.. Previous specials include Unveiled (2019), Elder Millennial (2018), Confirmed Kills (2016), Freezing Hot (2015) and War Paint (2013).

The special was filmed at the Connor Palace in Cleveland in July 2022.

Message from Iliza: “I’m so incredibly proud of this special. It’s bold, it’s real – you’ll never look at a bra the same way again…. Also, my outfit is awesome.”

In addition to her comedy specials, Shlesinger previously co-starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in Spenser Confidential, produced and starred in The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show, and had a supporting role in Netflix’s Pieces of a Woman. In the midst of the pandemic, she and her husband, chef and nominated James Beard Award author Noah Galuten, launched Don’t Panic Pantry, a daily social media cooking show.

Other past credits include Truth & Iliza, a limited-run talk show she hosted on Freeform; and Forever 31, a series she created and starred in for ABC Digital.

Shlesinger serves as Executive Producer of Hot Forever, alongside Kara Baker and David Martin.

Iliza Shlesinger would also announce a 2022 book tour for her new book entitled All Things Aside. The book contains a collection of essays about everyday life. In 2021, she wrote and starred in the comedy Good on Paper, based on her own real-life experience with a toxic ex-boyfriend. Now, Shlesinger, who welcomed a daughter with husband Noah Galuten in January, is spinning her new experiences into comedic gold and sage advice.

In the book, Shlesinger shares that she is “not equivocating, not beginning sentences with ‘I’m sorry.’ Just speaking as if I were a man, just saying exactly what I felt, taking the piss out of some things, making fun of myself.”

Shlesinger was intentional with the small details in All Things Aside, from her varying font choices. “If I’m going to say ‘live, laugh, love,’ it’s going to be in a tacky script,” she says, including the tiny piece of lettuce stuck in her teeth on the front cover. “I want them to see it at a Hudson News and pick it up and be like, ‘Oh, no, there’s a smudge on the cover.’ “

The six-city book tour will begin October 2nd in San Francisco, California and conclude in Chicago, IL on October 13th. Shlesinger will also host a virtual event October 4th.

The book’s back cover, which depicts the behind-the-scenes chaos at Shlesinger’s photoshoot, provides a hint to one of the takeaway themes of All Things Aside.

In the foreword of All Things Aside, Margaret Cho praises Shlesinger’s take on the world. “Every woman has something to gain from the Everywoman Iliza presents in her hilarious and astute worldview,” Cho writes.

All Things Aside is expected to be released on Oct. 18, 2022 and is available for pre-order here.
