How did you discover your passion for comedy:
Heartbreak ????

What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
Not knowing what “The Light” meant and going over. Then subsequently having my mic cut.

How would you describe your comedic style:
Grounded surrealist memoir comedy.

Describe your process for comedic writing:
“Write drunk, edit sober.” -Ernest Hemingway.
It took me a while to learn my style, but I have to write everyday because for every 10 jokes I write 1 will make the final cut.

Describe the comedy scene in your area:
Overlooked, underrated, and blossoming. There are effectively 10 comedy clubs in DFW. There’s no shortage of stage time and anytime I travel for comedy I always return with a newfound respect and appreciation for the level of comedy happening in Texas, especially DFW.

How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
Make as many people laugh as possible.

Who are some of your comedic peers that you enjoy watching perform or inspire you personally and professionally:
LaRon Wright, Scott Crisp, Ralph Barbosa.. honestly there’s so many from Dallas that I know I’m leaving off a ton, but ya know, rule of 3’s. ????????‍♂️

What’s been your most memorable moment in comedy:
A paraplegic man took off his leg and threw it at me on stage a few weeks back at the Addison Improv.

What have you learned most from your failures in comedy:
At a certain point comedy is just as much of a science than an art, so I had to redefine what it meant to bomb. I don’t necessarily categorize it as a bomb if the crowd isn’t laughing, but rather if I can see the comic on stage de-commit or get rattled. Then it’s a bomb. ????

How do people react towards you when they realize that you can make people laugh:
Like, “oh, now I see how he got his wife.”

Describe what it’s been like building a career in stand-up comedy:
Keep chopping away at the tree. Eventually it will fall over. ????

If you could change one thing in the world of comedy, what would it be:
Replace the booker at Hyena’s Comedy Club.

Best advice you’ve ever received from a comedian:
Don’t be boring. Don’t be needy.

If you were releasing a comedy special this week, what would it be called:
“Rebel Without Applause Vol. 2”

Funniest encounter you’ve ever had with a celebrity:
I made Jack Black laugh and he offered me backstage passes to Tenacious D.

Weirdest place you’ve ever performed any form of comedy:
All-black strip club named Stilettos ???? they went dancer-comic-dancer-comic-dancer-comic-dancer.

A Vinnie Corrales Fun Fact:
I am a 2x teacher of the year. ????

Where would you like your laughs to take you:
I just want to be able to make a living telling jokes. Is that so much to ask?

What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
Get on stage 100 times before you decide if this is the life for you.

What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

If you could write one episode for one classic TV sitcom which show would it be and give a brief detailed sentence on the episode:
A crossover episode with Seinfeld and 3rd Rock From The Sun.

If you could choose 1 comedy club and 3 comedians to perform with on your perfect comedy show, how would it go:
Ft. Worth Hyena’s Comedy Club w/ Fozzie Bear, Mike Wazowski, & Joan Rivers

What’s next for you:
Texas Theatre December 2 is a big one. Check OG for dates, but coming up I’m at Addison Improv, Dallas Comedy Club, TK’s, Backdoor, Stomping Ground, McNeal’s, Plano House of Comedy.
I’m always somewhere.
