Over the Christmas weekend, the world of comedy was saddened with the unfortunate news of the passing of comedian and social media personality Brandon “Boogie B” Montrell.
Montell was shot and killed inside of Rosues parking lot in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday December 23rd.
He was 43 years old.
Known for his series “New Orleans Hood History,” in which he casually explained parts of New Orleans’ popular culture, Boogie B had amassed close to 100,000 followers on his Instagram account. A Montrell friend, who preferred not be named, said the comedian lived in Los Angeles but was back home in New Orleans visiting his family during the holiday season.
With news of his death, many comedians and comedy fans mourned Montrell in comments on social media.
