Too Funny Tuesday Pays Tribute to Comedian Boogie B [Video]

Over the Christmas weekend, the world of comedy was saddened with the unfortunate news of the passing of comedian and social media personality Brandon “Boogie B” Montrell.

Montell was shot and killed inside of Rosues parking lot in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday December 23rd.

He was 43 years old.

Known for his series “New Orleans Hood History,” in which he casually explained parts of New Orleans’ popular culture, Boogie B had amassed close to 100,000 followers on his Instagram account. A Montrell friend, who preferred not be named, said the comedian lived in Los Angeles but was back home in New Orleans visiting his family during the holiday season. 

With news of his death, many comedians and comedy fans mourned Montrell in comments on social media.

The highly popular Los Angeles, California live stand-up comedy show Too Funny Tuesdays would pay homage to one of their show regulars by releasing highlights of Boogie B’s performance on their youtube channel.

Boogie B: Got Jokes? Boogie B’s got plenty! Boogie B was born Brandon Montrell in New Orleans, LA. He was destined to be an entertainer. From his early years he was known for his infectious charm and knack for crowd pleasing through his dancing and rapping abilities, hence the name “Boogie B”!

After encouragement, due to his ability to leave them in tears from over the years from friends and family to pursue a career as a comedian his side splitting charm, Boogie B finally decided to pursue comedy professionally. His influences comes from iconic figures such as Richard Pryor, Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy, and Rudy Ray Moore taking from the creativity of Dolomite, Raw, You So Crazy, and Mud Bone.  

After Hurricane Katrina displaced Boogie B to Washington DC, Boogie B became a highly sought after, up and coming comedian in D.C., New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia metro areas.  Boogie B has now moved to his current home in Los Angeles, California to take over the West Coast comedy scene. Boogie B performs at Churches, Comedy Clubs, Birthday Parties, and Wedding Receptions with his high energy and larger than life stage presence and natural comedic timing. Boogie B is absolutely destined to take the comedy world by storm.
