Stand-Up on the Spot with Jeremiah Watkins is a monthly showcase where high-profile stand-up comedians perform completely improvised comedy material in front of an electric live audience inside legendary venues.

Recently, comedian JR De Guzman brings his guitar on stage with him and covers everything from the current popularity of Jeffrey Dahmer to the seriousness of women’s rights on Stand-Up On The Spot where comedians go up with no prepared material and riff off of audience suggestions.

JR De Guzman: JR De Guzman was Born in the Philippines and raised in California, JR De Guzman began performing comedy while working as a music teacher, which he quickly learned just meant teaching Taylor Swift songs to teenagers. He has entertained all over the world, having performed for Stand-Up Tokyo and ROR Comedy in Japan, the Jokers Ball in Indonesia, the Badaboom Comedy Series in Amsterdam, the Edmonton Comedy Festival, and countless other international shows. Combining music and comedy, JR serenades the audience into laughter with songs, jokes, and stories of traveling the world, life after college, and family.

He has shared the stage with Tim Allen, Margaret Cho, Daniel Tosh, Jerrod Carmichael, Iliza Shlesinger, and more. Winner of 2016 Stand-up NBC & named as a prestigious “New Face” at Just for Laughs 2017, you can catch his quarter hour Netflix special on “The Comedy Lineup,” and catch him on Coming to the Stage Season 2 on Hulu, Comedy Central’s Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City, and MTV’s Acting Out. Also, check out his debut album on Sirius XM Radio’s Laugh’s USA which debuted #1 on iTunes and Billboard.

Jeremiah Watkins: Jeremiah Watkins is heralded as the comedian for making Judd Apatow fall in love with comedy again, and that’s a direct quote from Judd himself! You may know him as 1/3 of The Wave from Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, as Moshpit (a roadie/hypeman) in The Comedy Jam, or as 1/2 of the musical comedy super-duo Regan and Watkins during Kill Tony, the #1 Live Podcast in the world. He performs stand-up at all of the major clubs in Los Angeles throughout the week and became a Paid Regular in 2016 at The World Famous Comedy Store, getting his name painted on their prestigious wall in 2017.

The Comedy Store is also the home for his wildly popular live show Stand-Up On The Spot, which just came off a hit run of shows at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and was named by GQ Magazine as one of the “5 Funniest Nights in America.” Since moving to LA from Kansas, he has established himself as one of the most physical stand-up comedians in Los Angeles with his high energy and off-the-cuff style. He placed 2nd in the 2015 Big Sky Comedy Festival, and has performed at Just for Laughs, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Comedy Central’s New York Comedy Festival, South by Southwest, Riot LA, Moontower, and many other festivals throughout the country.
