You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, but you also don’t laugh at 100% of the jokes you don’t hear her say.

Shooters Gotta Shoot is a weekly podcast hosted by comedian Erica Spera as she brings on comedic guest to talk about dating and relationships.

In 2019, Erica publicly came out about having herpes, and how that has affected her dating life. Since then, no topic is off limits. She takes a sports mentality when it comes to dating, and instead of throwing in the towel she breaks down different relationship books, research, tricks and tips with her guests to see what is real and what is B.S.

Titled The Herpes Cure, comedian Ariel Elias joins Erica Spera to talk all about having herpes, how she used to disclose to partners, and much more. At the end, they debate some TikTok dating advice.

Erica Spera: Erica Spera is the girl next door who’s tall, dark, and one of the guys. Originally from Binghamton NY, Spera is the producer of 607 Comedy, where she hosts shows throughout the Upstate New York area.

When she isn’t having dinner with her ridiculously large family, you can find Erica performing nightly all over the big apple; doing stand up comedy clubs such as Gotham, The Stand, New York Comedy Club, and Caroline’s. She has recently opened for Patton Oswalt, Judah Friedlander and Tim Meadows. Spera was recently named a 2017 TBS Comics to Watch as part of the NY Comedy Festival. You may have seen her on TLC’s Cake Boss, or Gotham Comedy Live! on AXSTV.

Every Friday at 8:30pm, she co-hosts Bitches Brew, at Halyard’s Bar in Brooklyn, which has been named one of TimeOut NY’s “Best Comedy Shows”. You should come see a show and meet Erica’s parents.

This Week’s Special Guest:
Ariel Elias: Ariel Elias is a comedian living in New York City. Growing up, this Kentucky Jew made everyone laugh at her bat mitzvah, and the rest is history. Today, her comedy is a fun mesh of unique, personal stories mixed with witty and wry observations.

Described as “a sly young comic from Kentucky” by the New York Times, Ariel has also been featured in Rolling Stone, the Washington Post, and on Good Morning America. As a traveling stand-up comedian, she has performed on the set of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and was named a “New Face” at the 2021 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.

After catching Jimmy Kimmel’s attention with a viral stand-up clip that displayed her cool, calm, and hilarious composure, he invited Ariel to make her late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In the same week, she also appeared for an interview on the daytime talk show, Sherri.

When not performing or writing, she’s probably petting a dog or struggling through a puzzle.
