How did you discover your passion for comedy:
I discovered it growing up, doing impressions and then in high school while making short comedy skits.

What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
I was surprised people were laughing, like holy shit I’M DOING IT!

How would you describe your comedic style:
A lot of poking fun at myself and shit talking about people and everyday life.

Describe your process for comedic writing:
I just kind of, write everything down for the joke, and it’ll be long. Then I’ll test it at open mics and slowly cut it down to where it’s tight and the laughs are fast and consistent.

Describe the comedy scene in your area:
Well, I’m in LA so there’s comedy all over the place (Laughs).

How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
I think if you can get enough people to find you funny in a well rounded way then I’d say that’s successful.

Who are some of your comedic peers that you enjoy watching perform or inspire you personally and professionally:
Tara Daly, Rick Martinelli, Jimmy Shin, Angela Joy, Samuel Orson, Beau Batchelor, Joel Ingram, Gramme Sowell, Sarah Garofalo, Maxi Witrak.

What’s been your most memorable moment in comedy:
The first time my parents saw me perform. Thankfully I killed it.

What have you learned most from your failures in comedy:
Just keep going. There will be times it seems like you’re not funny. But just keep going.

How do people react toward you when they realize that you can make people laugh:
I think they realize I’m not as intimidating as they thought I was. I meant, I don’t think I’m intimidating AT ALL. But it’s what I’ve heard (Laughs).

Describe building a career in stand-up comedy:
Do open mics, make friends with other comics, swap bringer shows and network. Also do all the dumb social media bullshit.

If you could change one thing in the world of comedy, what would it be:
That people think they can make rules on what to joke about.

Best advice you’ve ever received from a comedian:
Classes will only teach you so much. The real experience is from doing it.

If you were releasing a comedy special this week, what would it be called:
Wiener Surprise.

Funniest encounter you’ve ever had with a celebrity:
I once told that dude from True Blood…Steven…SOMETHING…that he should be an actor (Laughs).

The Comedy Chateau. Have fun.

An Andrew Dean Pearson Fun Fact:
I love 90’s pop and boybands. You don’t know more than me (Laughs).

Where would you like your laughs to take you:
If I can get into acting/writing films that would be…just the best. I love writing horror/sci-fi.

What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
Be confident and honest.

What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
I really hope it doesn’t get watered down (Laughs)

If you could write one episode for one classic TV sitcom which show would it be and give a brief detailed sentence on the episode:
I think I would write an episode of Boy Meets World where Eric finds success in being a comedian.

If you could choose 1 comedy club and 3 comedians to perform with on your perfect comedy show, how would it go:
I think I would go with the main room of the comedy store and have Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Iliza.

What’s next for you:
I’ll be in the Original Room at the Comedy Store on 3/24!

Why should a person always laugh at life:
“A laugh can be a very powerful thing. Sometimes in life, it’s the only weapon we have.” –Roger Rabbit.
