The Funny Thing Is Podcast is where comedian Nicole Burch, interviews friends, comedians, and creatives as they share three things: a life-changing event, the “medicine” that helped them heal, and the funniest thing they learned along the way. Listen as they share their heartache and triumph and partake in all the belly laughs throughout.

So…what is the craziest thing that happened to you? Now, tell me the funniest thing about it.

Nicole Burch: Nicole Burch has spent the last decade honing her comedy chops in Los Angeles. The stand-up comedian and Groundlings alum says her sense of humor is often self-deprecating storytelling. In 2018, Burch started doing a stand-up bit about having been through the wringer when it comes to dating. Then one night she meets her celeb crush, Alias’s studly Michael Vartan. Burch turned the ha-larious unlucky-to-extremely-lucky streak into a comedy special titled Never Been Kissed which aired on Amazon Prime in the fall of 2020. She is also a Sunday Company alum from the reputable Groundlings Theater, where she performed her show “The 7 Guys You Date Before You Get Married”. She can be seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Hulu’s Casual, HBO’s Barry and Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger.

This week, Nicole is joined by comedian/actress/media personality Jenn Sterger.

Sterger discusses the infamous 2008 sports scandal that she was surrounded by involving NFL hall of fame Brett Favre, clearing up many misconceptions that continue to follow her life and career to this very moment. Jenn explains never actually met Favre in person and that a greedy reporter paid someone to steal her messages and run the story without her permission.

The Los Angeles, CA native also shares how comedy helped her deal with trauma and finally put focus on what truly makes her happiest in life.

Jenn Sterger: Jennifer Sterger is an actress, comedienne, writer and television host.
