Jerry Seinfeld has been in Israel this week meeting with the families of hostages captured by Hamas along with some of those recently released.

The American Jewish Seinfeld creator met on Monday night with the families at the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum Headquarters. He has previously signed a letter condemning the “barbaric” attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, which has led to the bloody war that is currently raging.

Seinfeld was seen wearing a dog tag reading ‘Bring them home’ around his neck as he chatted with the families. According to Israel’s Channel 13, the meeting lasted two hours longer than scheduled.

Around half of the hostages captured on October 7 have so far been released.

“Seinfeld told the families that he feels a deep commitment to raising awareness around the world about the issue of the hostages,” according to a statement issued by the forum. “He and his family were clearly deeply affected by the stories of the experiences they heard from the family members and the released hostages.”

Seinfeld may now visit the southern border region, possibly meeting with Israeli soldiers, according to the Times of Israel. He is one of a number of high-profile Americans to have made the trip since the war started including Michael Rapaport and Elon Musk.

The war has been taking place for two-and-a-half months now with no immediate end in sight and an estimated 20,000 now killed, the majority of whom were in Gaza.
