Ethan Simmons-Patterson: Ethan Simmons-Patterson is a young up-and-coming comedian from Waukegan, Illinois. The twenty-year-old has been performing in the Midwestern, Chicago, Iowa City area for the past two years at local open mics and comedy showcases and opening for headlining acts. His comedy stems from his hometown of Waukegan also the hometown of the Great Jack Benny. Growing up as a delinquent who was frequently in trouble, Ethan turned to humor to laugh his way out of sticky situations. Later he put his knack for the funny into an act that encompasses everyday life situations, social rules, race and gender he encountered growing up in the North Chicago suburb. From his single mother to his eccentric father, even his awkward cast of friends, Ethan includes a wide variety of characters in each of his routines. With a sense of the past and a fear of the future his comedy is an out of the box take on life as we live it.

Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents, formerly known as The Half Hour, is an American stand-up comedy television series that airs on Comedy Central in the United States. The program features various stand-up comedians in each episode. It replaced the similar program Comedy Central Presents in 2012.

Every episode features an up-and-coming comedian or sometimes a group performing an original set of stand-up. The first four seasons of the show where filmed at the Royale theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. Beginning with the fifth season, the comedians now perform their sets at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was announced that a sixth season was picked up with 14 new stand-up comedians given their own set. It was also announced that the show will be retitled Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents.
