How did you discover your passion for comedy:
I got sober and needed a new hobby.
What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
I crushed and found it very easy.
How would you describe your comedic style:
Non-stop energy, gay & abrasive
Describe your process for comedic writing:
Jot down a premise, try a million punchlines, scrap the premise, work out the idea from scratch, try it on-stage at least a dozen times at mics, graduate the bit to my proven set, change it again and again over time .

Wildly diverse; very Black, Queer & Female-forward
How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
Maintaining drive and consistently having the goods to back it up.

Performing at the historic Joy Theatre to kick off a comedy festival.

What failures? Rude.
How do people react toward you when they realize that you can make people laugh:
React? They’re laughing, too.

It’s doable, but relentless work.
If you could change one thing in the world of comedy, what would it be:
No straight people.
Best advice you’ve ever received from a comedian:
It’s never as bad as you think… But it’s also never as good as you think.

Funniest encounter you’ve ever had with a celebrity:
One time, I had to reprimand Willam Dafoe for crashing my mic and taking the attention off me.

In the backyard at a crawfish boil during a Mardi Gras parade.

Where would you like your laughs to take you:
Far enough to retire in 5 years.
What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
Become a GREAT (not good) writer.
What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
It must be protected; I mean that in every sense of the word.
If you could write an episode for ONE classic TV sitcom, which show would it be:
I’d write an episode of The Twilight Zone with gay ghosts in a poly relationship, only they don’t know they’re ghosts or poly until the end…like The Others. Call it Devil’s Triangle?
If you could choose ONE comedy club and THREE comedians to perform with on your perfect comedy show, how would it go:
At some Beyoncé level station full of rednecks; put on 3 horrible straight white guys (they bomb) followed me (I’m so good at least 4 people pass away).

Why should a person always laugh at life:
People should laugh at life because it’s difficult and unrelenting. It’s the only sane reaction.
