Name: Liz Carole
Current City: Dallas, TX
Instagram/Twitter/Tik-Tok: @LizCaroleW
Years in Comedy: 1
Haven’t we seen you somewhere before: If you lived in Lawton, Oklahoma in 2021, you saw me in a car commercial that has hopefully been wiped from the internet.
Comedic Influences: Chelsea Handler, Daniel Tosh, Nikki Glaser, Robin Williams, & Marc Maron, & Norm Macdonald
Favorite Comedy Album: John Mulaney “The Top Part”
Favorite Comedy Special: Daniel Tosh “People Pleaser”
Favorite Comedy Movie: Billy Madison…it’s too damn hot for a penguin to be just walking around out here.
Favorite Comedy TV Show: South Park
Favorite Comedic Character: Butters or Johnny Drama. They have a similar aura that I feel maternal towards.
Favorite Topics to Joke About: Religious trauma and adult twins
Favorite Type of Audience for a Comedy Show: A room full of girls, gays, and theys. Men can come but they have to promise to be cool about stuff.
Favorite Comedy Club: I did my first open mic at Dallas Comedy Club, so I am trauma bonded to it. It’s a great club!

How did you discover your passion for comedy?
1st grade popcorn reading. I was called on to read a sentence and I read it in a robot voice. Absolutely killed, even the teacher laughed. I’m still chasing that high.

What do you remember most about your first time performing stand-up comedy:
I remember drinking 4 black cherry High Noons.

How would you describe your comedic style:
Observational, silly, girly, & chronically online.

Describe your process for comedic writing:
I get prophetic visions and write them down. I perform them all at least once because if I don’t God will give the idea to Prince.

How do you judge success in the world of comedy:
I don’t think I’m in a position to judge anyone’s success. Some people want notoriety and accolades, some just want their card to go through at the bar. Both are valid.

What’s been your most memorable moment in comedy:
My first show was really special. I was like 3 months in and like 20+ friends came through for it. I can only assume that’s how hard drugs feel.

What have you learned most from your failures in comedy:
Ask me in a few years, I’m actively failing!

Describe building a career in stand-up comedy:
Multiple humiliation rituals

If you could change one thing in the world of comedy, what would it be:
Maybe less weirdo behavior disguised as comedy. I’d like to submit the idea that almost any topic can be funny if you write a good enough joke, but some people seem to be bypassing the writing process and just going straight to punching down.

Best advice you’ve ever received from a comedian:
Keep showing up, even when it feels weird. And it’s going to be weird a lot!

If you were releasing a comedy special this week, what would it be called:
Liz Carole “What If I Had A Gun?”

Weirdest place you’ve ever performed any form of comedy:
Inside of a cop car

What would you tell a potential comedian if they ask you how they can own the laughs:
If you can own the silence you can own the laughs, diva.

What are your thoughts on the future of comedy:
A lot of cool things could happen if we stopped using ChatGPT. I’d also love to see more jokes and less crowd work but I think I’m getting greedy.

Ultimate goals for your comedy career:
At the risk of sounding corny on the internet, I want to have it all. A special or five, a house on a hill, a cameo in Happy Gilmore 3, etc. The way God intended!

What’s next for you:
Another black cherry High Noon.
