This week, the crew is joined by comedian SCRUNCHO stops by to promote his upcoming one man show: “All I Ever Needed Was A Hug”.
Scruncho: Born from the streets of Long Beach, California, Scruncho’s unique brand of comedy and his relentless drive inspired Vibe Magazine to dub him “King of the Underground”. Scruncho has used his gritty and honest style of comedy to rise among the ranks in comedy clubs throughout the country. Beginning his comedy career at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he has gone on to tour with some of the top comedians in the industry including Eddie Griffin, Mike Epps, Katt Williams and Cedric the Entertainer.
Leveraging his experience as a stand up comedian, Scruncho turned his focus to television where he appeared as a cast member on Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out, BET’s ComicView, 1st Amendment, Laffapalooza with Jamie Foxx and commercials for iPod and Del Taco. His comedic timing and talent for improvisation also landed him roles on MTV’s sketch comedy, Short Circuit, as well as BET’s sketch comedy Comic View Players.
As an actor, Scruncho has appeared in a number of feature films including Stompin’, Boss’n Up, Rude Boy, The Watermelon Heist, For da Love of Money, and How High. His upcoming features include The Secret starring Nas, The Post Office starring Master P and Internet Dating starring Katt Williams.
Scruncho also toured nationally with Vivica A. Fox, Boris Kudjoe and Malik Yoba in the hit stage play, Whatever She Wants, where he appeared on Broadway at Radio City Music Hall. He is currently working on his one-man show where Scruncho does what he does best…turns pain into laughter. It is a comedic view of his strained relationship with his father entitled All I Needed Was a Hug.
