When the light goes on, you’re supposed to wrap it up.
But not Nate Jackson, not once, but twice.
In this clip, Nate explains what “running the light” means in stand-up comedy, and why he broke the rule for the right reasons.
Nate Jackson: Nate is currently recurring on the upcoming NBC series THE YOUNG ROCK. He has appeared on Nick Cannon Presents Wild’N Out (MTV), All Def Comedy (HBO), Kevin Hart’s Hart of the City (Comedy Central), Off The Chain (Bounce TV), Comic View (BET), and Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks (TruTV).
In 2019 Nate was named to the Time Out LA Top 10 Comedians to Watch List. In 2018 Nate recorded a set for Kevin Hart’s LOL Live in Montreal at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. In 2017, he was a writer for Leslie Jones at the BET awards and just finished working as a consulting producer for the upcoming season of Wild’N Out. Nate performs all over the country and can also be heard on his podcast “The Nate Jackson radio show” or as a regular guest on “Corey Holcomb’s 5150 podcast”. While at Eastern Washington University, Nate was dared by one of his friends to enter a comedy contest. Not backing down, Nate entered, and the rest is history. That was the start of Nate’s journey to becoming a comedian.
After graduating from Eastern, Nate moved to Hollywood to pursue comedy even further. When he moved back to Tacoma, he ran comedy rooms around the greater Puget Sound area and eventually started “Super Funny Comedy Show” in 2010.Nate has done college tours, USO tours, and national tours. He’s been all around the globe, visiting every U.S. state twice and major cities more times than he can count.
Live Nation: an American multinational entertainment company that was founded in 2010 following the merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
It promotes, operates and manages ticket sales for live entertainment internationally. It also owns and operates entertainment venues and manages the careers of music artists.
The company has faced widespread criticism over its central role in the consolidation of the live events industry, allegations that it proactively engages in anti-competitive practices, poor handling of the ticket sale process for highly popular events, and injuries and deaths that have occurred at many of its events.
As of early 2023, Live Nation’s annual shareholders report says the company has controlling interests in 338 venues globally and believes itself to be “the largest live entertainment company in the world,” “the largest producer of live music concerts in the world,” “the world’s leading live entertainment ticketing sales and marketing company,” and “one of” the world’s biggest artist management companies and music advertising networks for corporate brands.
