Mo Amer Announces Third Netflix Comedy Special “Wild World”

Mo Amer, the co-creator and star of Netflix‘s acclaimed series Mo, has inked a deal to bring his new stand-up comedy specialWild World, to the streamer on October 28.

Filmed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., the special is Amer’s third for Netflix, on the heels of Mo Amer: The Vagabond (2018) and Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas (2021). Highlights of his new hour include a celebration of his Palestinian heritage, reflections on the birth of his son, and a critical look at the TSA.

In addition to writing and performing, Amer directed Wild World, with Mike Bertolina and Mustafa Abuelhija exec producing. All Things Comedy was the production company behind the special.

In its two seasons on Netflix, Amer’s Mo — an examination of the immigrant experience loosely based on his own experiences — won a Peabody Award, as well as a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Television Under 40 Minutes. Amer created the series with Ramy Youssef, who’d previously brought him aboard for a supporting role in his hit Hulu series, Ramy. Additional credits for Amer include Warner Bros/DC’s Black Adam, where he starred alongside Dwayne Johnson, as well as Sweet Dreams, a sobriety-themed indie sports dramedy, where he starred opposite Johnny Knoxville.
