Comedian Katie Compa will release her sophomore comedy special and album Incurable Optimist on April 30 via Little Lamb Recordings. The special will be available on Katie’s YouTube channel and the album will be available on all streaming audio platforms.

Katie’s release will be celebrated at her monthly show, Golden Spiral Comedy, at the Whiskey Cellar in NYC’s East Village on April 30th. Tickets available here.

In her own words, Katie shares: “‘Incurable Optimist’ is my second album to be recorded and released under a Trump regime, and this time, I’m really exercising my right to free speech while I still can.”

Recorded live in the jewel-box cabaret room tucked behind Pangea NYC, ‘Incurable Optimist’ is an intimate special and digital album delivering razor-sharp, tell-it-like-it-is commentary on the current political dumpster fire, seamlessly integrated with hilarious personal anecdotes. Compa’s delightful misanthropy and signature angry joy carry the hour as she tackles everything from being child-free in her 40s, her rejection of fame, and an unforgettable story involving an ex and a Swedish prison sentence. The result is an album that is cleaner than her debut, but not by much. Directed and edited by Patrick Holbert.

This release follows Katie’s 2019 debut album ‘Hard Pass,’ which reached #1 on the iTunes Comedy Chart, followed shortly after by a pandemic that effectively shut down standup comedy.  Katie considered making a clean break, but once comedy came back, she discovered she was quite literally unable to stay offstage—she simply had too much to say.
