After weeks of standout showcases, callbacks, and performances at some of the country’s most iconic comedy clubs, Funny AF with Kevin Hart has crowned its winner.
Detroit-born comedian Ron Taylor has taken the top honor, earning a coveted Netflix comedy special and solidifying his place as one of stand-up’s most exciting rising voices.
Known for putting a “silly flair on serious things,” Taylor emerged as a consistent standout throughout the competition, bringing a unique blend of perspective, structure, and sharp comedic instincts to every stage he touched. His victory marks a defining moment in a journey that began years ago, when he first honed his timing and storytelling as a teenager before rising through the ranks to become a paid regular at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
Taylor entered Funny AF with momentum already on his side. Handpicked by Bill Burr for Comedy Central’s The Ringers, he brought both credibility and confidence into the competition. Over the course of the season, he proved he could deliver under pressure, refining his voice while standing out in a field packed with dynamic talent.
Hosted by Kevin Hart, Funny AF set out to discover “the next household name and voice of a generation,” challenging comedians to make lasting impressions in just minutes onstage. By the finale, the competition had narrowed to four distinct finalists: Caitlin Peluffo, a New York club favorite known for her connection with audiences; Usama Siddiquee, a writer-performer whose comedy journey began with a viral hometown video; Reg Thomas, a seasoned comic blending high-energy humor with emotional depth; and Taylor, whose ability to stretch a premise and elevate it ultimately set him apart.
In the end, Taylor rose above the pack — or, as he once joked when envisioning this very moment, “finally going up.”
With a Netflix special now on the horizon, Ron Taylor’s win signals not just the end of a competition, but the beginning of a major new chapter. As Funny AF delivers on its promise to spotlight the future of comedy, Taylor stands front and center — a fresh voice ready for the global stage.
