New digital showcase series features Adam Ray, Jay Jurden, Leslie Liao, Ian Edwards, Jeremiah Watkins, Katherine Blanford, and more as Comedy Central returns to discovering the next generation of comedy stars.

Comedy Central is officially stepping back into the spotlight as one of stand-up comedy’s premier talent incubators with the announcement of Comedy Central Stand-Up Selects, a brand-new digital stand-up showcase series set to tape in August 2026 before premiering exclusively this fall on the Comedy Central Stand-Up YouTube channel.

Serving as the spiritual successor to the network’s acclaimed Stand-Up Featuring series, Stand-Up Selects continues Comedy Central’s long-standing commitment to elevating both emerging voices and established performers with professionally produced, short-form stand-up sets designed for today’s digital audience.

The inaugural lineup features an impressive mix of comedy veterans and rising stars, including Adam Ray, Daniela Inés Calvo, Fumi Abe, Ian Edwards, Jay Jurden, Jeremiah Watkins, Jessie “Jetski” Johnson, Joey Cerone, Katherine Blanford, Leslie Liao, Mandal, Ryan Goodcase, Sammy Mowrey, and Skyler Higley.

The announcement marks one of Comedy Central’s most significant investments in stand-up comedy in years, signaling a renewed focus on discovering and developing comedic talent in an era increasingly dominated by independently produced YouTube specials and streaming platforms.

For decades, Comedy Central served as one of comedy’s most influential launchpads. Beginning in the 1990s, the network introduced audiences to future superstars through iconic programs such as Comedy Central Presents, stand-up festivals, roast specials, and late-night showcase programming. Those platforms helped elevate the careers of comedy heavyweights including Dave Chappelle, Amy Schumer, Kevin Hart, Ali Wong, Hannibal Buress, and countless others who would go on to become some of the industry’s biggest names.

More recently, Stand-Up Featuring modernized that formula by delivering concise, internet-friendly performances from more than 200 comedians. The series accumulated more than 143 million views across social media platforms, becoming a valuable career stepping stone for comics looking to reach wider audiences while adapting to changing viewing habits.

The return of a dedicated Comedy Central showcase comes at a pivotal moment for stand-up comedy. Over the past decade, the landscape has shifted dramatically, with platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and independently produced specials becoming the preferred avenue for comedians to reach audiences. At the same time, companies like Don’t Tell Comedy have emerged as leading tastemakers for discovering new talent, filling a space once largely occupied by Comedy Central.

With Stand-Up Selects, Comedy Central appears poised to reclaim part of that legacy by once again providing comics with a nationally recognized platform capable of introducing fresh voices to millions of viewers.

Whether the series represents the beginning of a larger stand-up strategy following the Paramount-Skydance merger remains to be seen. However, for comedy fans and performers alike, the launch of Stand-Up Selects signals the welcome return of one of stand-up’s most influential brands to the business of discovering comedy’s next generation.

Comedy Central Stand-Up Selects tapes in August 2026 and premieres this fall exclusively on the Comedy Central Stand-Up YouTube channel.
