Comedian Alex Nicholas delivers an intimate, observational hour filmed live at Pet Shop in Jersey City.
Comedian Alex Nicholas takes everyday frustrations, uncomfortable truths, and the general absurdity of trying to figure life out and turns them into comedy with his stand-up special, None Of This Sht Works*.
Recorded live at Pet Shop in Jersey City, the special puts Nicholas in an intimate setting where his conversational delivery and relatable perspective take center stage. Throughout the performance, he explores a wide range of observational topics, finding humor in the routines, expectations, relationships, and contradictions that make everyday life far more complicated than it probably needs to be.
The title None Of This Sht Works* perfectly captures the spirit of the special. Whether examining the things people are told will make them happier, more successful, or simply better at navigating adulthood, Nicholas approaches the world with the suspicion that maybe nobody actually knows what they’re doing.
Rather than searching for easy answers, Nicholas embraces the confusion. His comedy transforms familiar experiences into sharp observations, allowing audiences to recognize pieces of their own lives inside the frustration.
The Jersey City setting adds another layer to the performance. Filmed inside Pet Shop, the special trades the polished atmosphere of a traditional theater production for something closer and more immediate, creating the feeling of catching a comedian in a room where every reaction matters.
None Of This Sht Works* introduces viewers to Alex Nicholas’ comedic perspective through a performance built around honesty, relatability, and the realization that sometimes the funniest response to life not going according to plan is simply admitting that none of it seems to work.
