Comedian Taylor Tomlinson talks dating, family, comedy, and her new book, Actually, Nevermind, as House of Maher closes out its season.
The doors to the House of Maher are closing for the season, but not before welcoming one seriously funny new honorary sister.
Stand-up comedy superstar Taylor Tomlinson joins sisters Ilona Maher, Olivia Maher and Adrianna “Dre Baby” Maher for the season finale of House of Maher, delivering a candid and hilarious conversation filled with dating stories, family dynamics, comedy and the kind of sisterly chaos that has become a signature of the show.
After a season that welcomed guests including Brittany Broski, Drew Afualo, Hannah Berner, Jameela Jamil, Emily Henry and Rachel Reid into the Maher family, the sisters kick off the finale by looking back at some of their favorite moments before sitting down with Tomlinson—appropriately introduced as the family’s newest “eldest daughter.”
Titled “Taylor Tomlinson: Dating for Material, Location Sharing & Romantic Trips with Family,” the episode gives Tomlinson plenty of room to bring the sharp self-awareness and brutally relatable storytelling that have helped make her one of the defining stand-up voices of her generation. The conversation tackles dating, relationships, family and what happens when your personal life also happens to provide material for your next joke.
The appearance arrives during another major chapter in Tomlinson’s career. Her first collection of essays, Actually, Nevermind, was released September 22 and offers a more intimate look at her experiences with family, grief, faith, ambition and growing into a version of herself she didn’t necessarily anticipate.
Tomlinson is also coming off the release of her fourth Netflix stand-up special, Prodigal Daughter. The special finds the comedian diving into dating in her 30s, her sheltered religious upbringing and other deeply personal subjects with the confessional humor that has become central to her stand-up.
Between the Maher sisters’ infectious chemistry and Tomlinson’s ability to transform uncomfortable truths into comedy, the season finale feels less like a traditional celebrity interview and more like being invited into a particularly funny family group chat.
