In honor of a fallen friend and highly-respected stand-up comedian whose star was on a meteoritic trajectory before his untimely death, two of the hottest LatinX stars on the planet recently announced that they will be embarking on a nationwide tour together.
The Butterfly Effect Tour brings together comics Ralph Barbosa and René Vaca for a night of comedy you won’t soon forget.
The tour was originally meant to include fellow rising star Ken Flores, who recently passed away on Tuesday January 28th, 2025 from cardiac arrest.
Best known for his brash wit and electrifying crowd work, Flores had gone from a talented newcomer to the cusp of worldwide superstardom in only a few years. Selling out countless comedy clubs and theatres nationwide since early 2023, the Chicago, IL native recently began his latest Butterfly Effect comedy tour in early January in Portland, OR.
When talking about his friend’s passing, Rene Vaca informed People.com that the trio had agreed to go on tour together and would be making an official announcement in a matter of weeks.
The tour will begin on April 3rd in Portland, OR, and is scheduled to conclude on July 13th in Providence, RI.
One of the shyest attention hogs to ever do comedy, Ralph Barbosa’s disarming and laid-back style has made him a stand-out on stage, on TV and online. Most recently, Ralph taped his Hulu comedy special that will be released in 2025.
In 2024, he was nominated as one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch. After a breakout year in 2023, Ralph is touring theaters in 2024 and 2025 with his North American theater tour, Ralph Barbosa: The Super Cool Ass Tour, which is selling out and adding shows. This included selling out two theater shows during Netflix Is A Joke Fest 2024, as well as hosting the kick-off Introducing show.
On October 31st, 2023, Ralph premiered his Netflix stand-up special, Ralph Barbosa: Cowabunga, which ranked as the #3 TV show on Netflix throughout its first week on the service. In January 2023, he made his debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, his Comedy Central Stand-up Featuring: Ralph Barbosa set has topped 5.1 million views on YouTube.
In November 2022, Ralph starred in the HBO Max comedy special, Entre Nos: The Winners 3, and earlier that year his Don’t Tell Comedy performance was released on YouTube and now has over 5.7 million views.
Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, René Vaca is a 29-year-old stand-up comedian, writer, and actor.
Although he started a landscaping business at 15 years old, he soon realized he wanted to pursue comedy for a living; he dropped out of college and has not looked back since.
Vaca has been pursuing his dream of stand-up comedy and won the 16th annual StandUp NBC competition! Since then, Vaca has also built a following with his stand-up comedy clips reaching millions of views across his social media channels, including over 900 thousand followers on Instagram and 580 thousand followers on TikTok.
Currently, he is on his nationwide tour.
