Chelesa Handler was a big winner under the Hollywood lights while her boyfriend Jo Koy became a winner himself when the lights went off last night.

Last night, Handler would stake her claim for comedian of the year by taking home the award for Best Comedy Act at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards in Hollywood, California. Chelsea beat out a hilarious lineup of nominees that include Trevor Noah, Bo Burnham, John Mulaney, Phoebe Robinson, Hasan Minhaj, Ali Wong and Marlon Wayans.

Accepting the award on behalf of her work that includes a successful comedy tour along with a comedy special both titled Vaccinated & Horny, the comedian/actress would thank all of the people who supported her comedy throughout the year including the straight caucasian men who were forced to attend and hear her material by their girlfriends. She would conclude her speech by highlighting her love life with fellow comedian Jo Koy sharing with the audience how much adult fun they will be having with each other when they arrive at home.

Prior to winning the award, Handler and Koy walked the PCAs red carpet together in coordinating black and white ensembles. Laverne Cox would manage to get a few words with the comedic couple as discussed their new relationship.

Handler, 46, and Koy, 50, made their relationship Instagram official in September, after they were spotted getting up close and personal at a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game in late summer. Before going public, Handler wrote that she was “finally in love, with the best kind of guy there is.”

The comedian raved that Koy “has renewed my faith in men” in the Insta-post, as she shared cute AF photos of the two of them.

“For everyone who is still looking for their person, do not adjust who you are or make yourself smaller to find them. Be patient and never settle for anything less than you deserve. Your person is coming and sometimes—they’ve been standing in front of you the whole time,” Handler added.
