This is a show where the news is hilariously built from the ground up.

Self-built comedy entertainment company KevOnStage studios take your frictional news to some really weird places in their debut scripted television series entitled A Workplace Comedy. The comedy series follows the staff of News Online Today News (N.O.T.) highlighted by news anchors Kevin Fredericks and Angel Moore along with sportscaster Tahir Moore and weatherman Tony Baker.

The show’s trailer, which you can check out below, teases daily chaos that ensues during a normal work shift.

The first season will also feature various cameo appearances from Rob Haze (Comedy Central), Affion Crockett (A Haunted House), Spice Adams (Old Spice), and many more. A Workplace Comedy will be featured exclusively on KevOnStage Studios.

Here’s a clip of the N.O.T. crew making plans to celebrate their recent award nomination from episode 1 entitled The Award.

Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks is quite the comedic paradox: He’s a card-carrying Christian who mostly traffics in clean, church humor — riffing on such topics as over-the-top pastors and far-fetched stories from the Bible. But, being a husband and family man, he also does randy-yet-mature routines about trying to keep his marriage fresh in the bedroom.

But those who follow Fredericks on the interwebs may also know him as a guy who creates heaps of comedic content — either by himself or with a crew of fellow comedians. A few years back, he ran things over at All Def, the YouTube comedy channel founded by disgraced hip-hop icon Russell Simmons. It’s home to such shows as Great Taste, where Fredericks and other comedians debated (and usually get lambasted) over their favorite things; and Roast Me, a merciless, insult-filled free-for-all featuring various comedians who do exactly what the title says.

Fredericks launched his own streaming app, KevOnStage Studios, featuring shows starring him and other All Def alumni. The service has already built up a nice collection of original, for-us-by-us programming. Real Comedians Challenge Show is the flagship program, with Fredericks and comedians Tony Baker, Angel Laketa Moore and Tahir Moore (no relation) engaging in various challenges — painting, songwriting, applying makeup on somebody, etc. — talking trash to each other until one of them is victorious at the end.

There are also other shows, such as Black People Don’t Do Improv, a bare-bones improv game show; Explain This, where Fredericks and Tahir Moore sharpen their roasting skills by doing deep dives on comedians’ old photos; and Black Card Off Layaway, with African American comic Keysha E. engaging in foreign-to-her, Black activities like playing spades and making potato salad.

Fredericks also has a heavy, social-media following, with his 1.3 million followers on Instagram usually ready for all the viral-video commentaries and other funny clips he drops on the page. With the fan base he has online, it explains why several of the cities on his tour, which also features Tahir Moore and Angel Laketa Moore, have already sold out. (The Friday and Saturday shows he’ll be doing at the Improv this weekend are full.
