Jiaoying Summers Set To Headline We Own The Laughs “Ladies Night” At Cobbs Comedy Club July 6th & 7th

A special two-night event filled with beautiful ladies and uncontrollable laughter.

While in the midst of a new women’s revolution in the world of comedy, one of the fastest-rising female comedians in the country headlines a special all-women comedy showcase inside one of comedy’s most recognizable comedy clubs in the world. We Own The Laughs presents Ladies Night starring Jiaoying Summers. 

A comedy career spanning less than three years, Jiaoying Summers has not only been the busiest comedian of the pandemic era but she’s also been one of the most successful businesswomen in comedy entertainment. One of the hottest up-and-coming Asian American females on the comedy scene, Jiaoying is one of the most popular comedians on TikTok with more than 1 million followers, 21.6 million likes and over 300 million views.

She is the owner of The Hollywood Comedy and The Pasadena Comedy club in Los Angeles, California. Jiaoying is considered the trailblazer in building up the Hollywood underground comedy scene. She performs 10+ shows a week headlining regularly at The Hollywood Improv and The Laugh Factory and produces 8 shows weekly across her clubs in LA and Pasadena. She is the founder of THC Tour, which brings in the best comics touring nationally. In 2022, it was announced that Summers is set to release her 30-min comedy special as part of Peacock TV’s first stand-up comedy series entitled Comedy InvAsian 2.0.

Summers is an award-winning SAG-AFTRA actress with extraordinary training.

Set to take place inside the world-famous Cobbs Comedy Club in San Francisco, California on Wednesday, July 6th, and Thursday, July 7th. The evening will be hosted by comedian and Bay Area fan-favorite Aivy Cordova. Alongside Cordova and Summers, the event will also feature amazing performances from all-star comedians Christina Pickles, Bee Gutierrez, Ksenia, Noel Leon, Rachel Sterling, and CJ Franco. 

This show is NOT for women only as these comedians have been making men and women laugh for years, so come to the city and enjoy a night filled with women who love to make people laugh at life.

Host of the Evening:

Aivy Cordova: Originally from Hayward, CA, Aivy Cordova (it’s pronounced “Ivy”) began her stand-up career in San Francisco. After a 7-year hiatus to raise her son, she returned to the stage in 2016 and now performs regularly at venues throughout the Bay Area and HaHa Comedy Club in Los Angeles. She has trained at Bindlestiff Studio in San Francisco, where she was a member of the sketch comedy team Granny Cart Gangstas from 2013 to 2015, and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (Sunset) in Los Angeles.

Christina Pickles: A female stand-up comedian from Northern California, Pickles started stand-up comedy in 2020, and has been in love with the stage ever since. Christina’s comedy style is relatable and autobiographical, with stories that will have everyone laughing! She has her tasty pastries business, and performs in comedy clubs all over Northern California including the Tommy T’s, Laughs Unlimited, and Alameda Comedy Club. 

Bee Guiterrez: Originally from Salt Lake City, Bee Gutierrez got her start making people laugh behind the lens of her camera. She took the leap after twenty years of photography by setting down her camera and picking up a mic. Her bold edgy style and versatile ability to bring energy to any room sets her apart on stage from her fellow comedians.

Ksenia: Ksenia has appeared in feature films, shorts and a variety of sketches and music videos. She co-wrote, produced and starred in the romantic comedy, Bride To Be, set for release in late 2021, and is currently partnering with Irina Voronina (Reno 911, 13 Reasons Why) on the spy comedy, Operation Bombshell. Ksenia is also in the works on her own TV show, to be released in 2022. Her stand-up appearances include The Comedy Store, Comedy Cellar NYC, Flappers, Pretty Funny Women, UCB and more.

Rachel Sterling: Rachel Sterling is an actress and comedian, based in Los Angeles California. The former Pussycat Doll has graced the pages of Playboy, Maxim, Esquire and  FHM. Rachel is best known internationally for her television/film appearances on Reno 911!, True Blood, Entourage, Modern Family and Wedding Crashers just to name a few.  Rachel now performs Standup comedy throughout the United States most notably at The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, The Hollywood Roosevelt and the Hollywood Improv.  Rachel is currently the host of the podcast Shut Your Face.

Noel Leon: Noel is a stand-up comedian and author of A Very Inappropriate Short Story Book. She’s in Season 2 of Sherman’s Showcase and An Inappropriate Christmas Movie, a film based on her first book, which is coming out on streaming platforms this fall. She also has a popular satire blog and a million followers on Instagram for her viral comedy sketches. Leon is a regular stand-up comedian performer at the Hollywood Improv, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Store.

CJ Franco: One of the stars of HBO’s hit reality series FBoy Island, CJ Franco has well over half a million followers on Instagram, where she posts photo shoots, glamour shots, and pictures from exotic locales. She’s clearly no stranger to the spotlight: her personal website showcases her modeling work as well as her foray into both short-form and standup comedy. Her modeling pictures have appeared in GQ, Maxim, Esquire, Vogue South Korea, and Sports Illustrated. She took improv classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, CA, and has made appearances at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. She’s also a regular on the web series “Evil little Brother” and a guest writer for For Him Magazine, where she gives “her comedic brand of dating advice to men.”
