In September 2020, a new comedy Woke premiered on Hulu. The series – which was based on the life of artist Keith Knight – debuted its second season back in April. However, it was announced today that the series was not picked up for a third season.

Despite having some love from critics, the show did have some COVID-related complications last year while filming its second season. The show was shut down three times over a breakout of cases, and the protocols put in place were reportedly “less-than-stellar.” It was placed on hold indefinitely, but of course, they eventually filmed the rest of the season.

The series followed “Keef, an African-American cartoonist finally on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. Keef must now navigate the new voices and ideas that confront and challenge him, all without setting aflame everything he’s already built.”
