Actor/Comedian Lil Rel’ Howery and Host/Comedian Dwayne ‘Young Wayne’ Young are teaming up to make a podcast just like their everyday conversations – debates, roast sessions and stories you’ve never heard before! This isn’t another podcast that just reacts to current events. Keepin’ It Rel with Young Wayne is a funny, authentic and unscripted show that touches a wide range of topics from sports to culture to mental health.

In this episode of Keepin’ It Rel With Young Wayne, Rel and Wayne are joined by comedian, actor and friend – Deray Davis (FX’s Snowfall, The Chi, Netflix’s How To Act Black)! Deray touches on finally finding his newfound peace and calm after years conquering the comedy game. Then we get into some legendary Chicago stories including the Kanye West “Through The Wire” video and the infamous Broke Phi Broke skit. Deray is a Legend and if you didn’t know, now you know!

Lil Rel’ Howery: Comedian, actor, writer, and producer Lil Rel Howery is a movie star. His role as TSA agent Rod Williams in the Oscar-winning instant classic Get Out (2017), written and directed by Jordan Peele ushered Howery into superstar status. His keen ability to mesh humor and honor resonated so deeply with audiences that Howery became not only the breakout star but a cultural champion. Winner of the Best Comedic Performance in a Movie at the MTV Movie & Television Awards, nominated for IMAGE Award for Best Supporting Actor and crowned Bernie Mac Comedy King of the Year, Howery is experiencing success at a rate bestowed upon few in Hollywood’s history. As Howery ascends, he also had the lead role in the film Uncle Drew, and guest stars alongside Issa Rae in the fearlessly funny HBO smash comedy series Insecure as Quentin.

Young Wayne: Dwayne Young, better known as Wayne, is a host actor, comedian, content creator and innovator. He harnesses his effortless ability to entertain and exude energy throughout audiences, interviews and events alike. From his Chicago origins, athletes, entertainers and brand entities. His unique “off-the-script” approach to Wayne has garnered a tier of mutual respect amongst a variety of well-known candid conversation creates a sense of comfort and familiarity within his entertainers, tastemakers and more. He focuses on flipping the definition of interviews and interactions. This establishes a flowing level of openness that draws out the unknown aspects and hidden talents of today’s top athletes, what it really means to be a multi-faceted figure by energizing others and you tap into your passion, ignite your energy, and express your Flipside! 

Deray Davis: DeRay has transformed his rough upbringing, streetwise mentality and status as a working actor into a live tour that stays fresh and ever changing according to whatever is happening in his daily life. DeRay’s hilarious hour special HOW TO ACT BLACK was released on Netflix in November 2017. He hosted for the second season of VH1’s HIP HOP SQUARES, executive produced by Ice Cube. He is gearing up for his recurring role in the third season of FX’s SNOWFALL.  Recently, he appeared on the big screen in ALL EYEZ ON ME and GROW HOUSE alongside Snoop Dogg and Lil Duval.

Previously, he starred in the third installment of the BARBERSHOP franchise THE NEXT CUT.  Prior to that he was the host of the GSN series MIND OF A MAN as well as appearing in the VH1 TV movie DRUMLINE: A NEW BEAT. Other features he has appeared in are GI JOE: RETALIATION, 21 JUMP STREET, JUMPING THE BROOM, SEMI PRO, OLD DOGS, IMAGINE THAT, LICENSE TO WED, SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS, LIFE AS WE KNOW IT, THE CLEANER, SCARY MOVIE 4, THE FOG, BARBERSHOP 1 & 2,  and JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION.  DeRay has also been seen guest-starring on EMPIRE, ENTOURAGE, THE LEAGUE and recurring on THE BOONDOCKS. He has starred in many stand-up specials including DERAY DAVIS: POWERPLAY on Showtime, HBO’S DEF COMEDY JAM, BET’S COMIC VIEW, and COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS as well as being a series regular on the hit MTV series WILD N OUT and performing the comedy skits on Kanye West’s LPs “Late Registration” and “The College Dropout”.  DeRay performs around the country and hosts a famous weekly show at the Hollywood Improv entitled MO BETTER MONDAYS.
