Just For Laughs: New Faces of Comedy International:
Anirban Dasgupta: Kolkata-born, Mumbai-based Anirban Dasgupta is a stand-up comedian and writer with a distinct comedic style. Since leaving behind his career as a corporate salesman, Anirban has headlined at major comedy clubs and festivals around India and abroad. After several popular youtube videos, he released his first stand-up special Take It Easy, in black and white on Amazon Prime Video to overwhelming acclaim. Following that, he co-wrote and co-created Afsos, a first-of-it’s kind black comedy thriller series on Amazon Prime Video that was released in 2020 to rave reviews.

Blake Freeman: Blake Freeman is one of Australia’s brightest new comedians, making a name for himself with his own brand of energetic and disarmingly honest comedy. Through his youthful energy and charismatic delivery Blake weaves charming stories, making the intensely personal relatable.

Catherine Bohart: Catherine has fast become one of the most sought-after comedians in the UK and Ireland. She took her debut solo show, Immaculate, to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018 to widespread critical acclaim, with The Times describing it as “the sort of perfectly structured Edinburgh debut you always hope for and rarely get to see”. Catherine returned to the festival in 2019 with her second hour-long show, Lemon. It enjoyed a month of sold-out performances and excellent reviews before Catherine took the show on a UK and Irish tour, including a run of jam-packed performances at London’s Soho Theatre Mainspace. Catherine went on tour with her latest show, This Isn’t For You,  in the UK & Ireland this year, followed by a hugely successful Edinburgh 2022 run, where she received numerous 4 & 5 star reviews. Catherine also founded and co-hosts (with Helen Bauer) award-winning online stand-up gig Gigless. The gig won a JOE.ie Award for Best Online Show and Catherine also won a Chortle Award for Legend of Lockdown on the back of its success.

Geraldine Hickey: Gez’s deceptively effortless knack for turning low-key yarns about agapanthuses and bouncy-castles into high-stakes, endlessly funny narrative rollercoasters culminated in her Most Outstanding Show award at the 2021 Melbourne Comedy Festival. A firm favourite of and in the Australian comedy scene, Geraldine’s 2019 show Things Are Going Well received a nomination for the Melbourne Comedy Festival Award for Most Outstanding Show, while she also took home the coveted comedians’ choice Piece of Wood Award.

Jason Leong: Jason Leong is one of Malaysia’s best and brightest standup comedians. His 2020 Netflix special Hashtag Blessed was a global success leading to extensive international touring, diving into his transition from medical doctor to professional joke-teller. And his latest live show Heaty completed a sold out run at the Beckett Theatre for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Jason’s online standup clips have received tens of millions of views across facebook, Instagram and TikTok making him a dominant force in the Asian comedy scene.

Her first stand-up hour, Venus, saw her nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe. It gained five-star reviews and a sell-out run, resulting in another sold out two-week run at London’s Soho Theatre.
