Comedy continues to prove its dominance in the podcasting world as acclaimed comedians Langston Kerman and David Gborie have officially partnered with Wave Partners, with the next-generation digital entertainment company taking over ad sales and distribution for their hit comedy podcast, My Momma Told Me.
The partnership further expands Wave’s growing presence in comedy podcasting, adding My Momma Told Me to a roster that includes So True with Caleb Hearon. As part of his expanding relationship with Wave, comedian Caleb Hearon will serve as executive producer of My Momma Told Me, bringing the podcast under his successful So True umbrella.
Already one of the most original voices in comedy podcasting, My Momma Told Me has built a loyal audience by exploring the funniest, wildest, and sometimes questionable Black conspiracy theories passed down through generations. Every Tuesday, Kerman and Gborie welcome fellow comedians, entertainers, and cultural figures to dissect everything from harmless family folklore to the outrageous stories shared by that one unforgettable relative everyone seems to have.
The show’s unique blend of improvisation, storytelling, and cultural commentary has attracted an impressive lineup of guests including Will Ferrell, Bob the Drag Queen, Janelle James, Lamorne Morris, Zack Fox, KevOnStage, Rico Nasty, and many more.
The Wave partnership represents another significant milestone for Kerman and Gborie as they continue to expand the reach of one of comedy’s most inventive podcasts while creating new opportunities through premium advertising partnerships and broader distribution.
Kerman has become one of comedy’s most versatile creators across stand-up, television, and film. His acclaimed Netflix special Bad Poetry, directed and produced by John Mulaney, further established him as one of the industry’s most compelling comedic storytellers. Beyond stand-up, he co-created, executive produced, and starred in Peacock’s Bust Down, served as head writer and executive producer of HBO’s WGA Award-nominated Pause with Sam Jay, and recently wrote for and appeared on Netflix’s Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney. His upcoming projects include starring alongside Jake Johnson in NBC’s Sunset PI, Amazon’s Barbershop television series, and Warner Bros.’ comedy Cut Off directed by Jonah Hill.
Gborie has quietly built one of comedy’s most diverse résumés, balancing stand-up with television, voice acting, and writing. The Denver native has appeared in NBC’s A.P. Bio and TBS’ Chad, while lending his unmistakable voice to projects including Adult Swim’s Royal Crackers, Netflix’s Exploding Kittens, Apple TV’s The Instigators, and serving as the current voice of Comedy Central. His latest stand-up special, Gbirth of a Nation, showcases the sharp wit and storytelling that have made him one of comedy’s most respected performers.
